MCI Screening Test also known as Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) is an examination directed and conducted by National Board of Examination in India. This examination is compulsory for medicine graduates from countries abroad such as China, Nepal, Bhutan, Philippines and other Caribbean countries. The FMGs need to fill their application forms, the exams are conducted twice in a year i.e. June & December and the examination form is available on the official website of NBE. The students need to provide the following details:
Nationality, Contact details, Email ID, Id proof, High-school mark sheet, MBBS qualification, scanned passport copy and signature, credit, debit and net-banking particulars, PAN card, Voter ID card etc. The exam covers 300 MCQs from pre-clinical, medical, para-clinical and other topics taught throughout the MBBS. The exam is usually of 300 marks and to qualify and get the medical license, aspirants need to score 150 marks.
Since the exams are conducted twice in a year and a candidate has minimum three attempts to clear the examination. The examinations are comparatively tougher this is why MIST is always recommended for FMGE preparation.
